Tips to help you get that job
Firstly, ensure that your profile is up to date and as complete as possible. We have found that the more information that you provide about yourself the more likely that you will be contacted. It will help if you provide some personal information about yourself, what service you offer, the experience you have, how much pay you are expecting, when you can work, what hours you can work and so on. There is no limit to how big your profile can be.
We have listed below some basic points that you may want to consider before attending an interview. The list is by no means exhaustive as DYD covers so many categories that it would be nearly impossible to list all the specific points for a particular category of worker.
Please do not take offence to the questions that you may be asked during interview. Remember that the interviewer will be potentially giving you access to their home and only wants to ensure that you are trustworthy and reliable.
Always be open and honest and remember if they employ you to ask them to add feedback to your profile.

that you may cause to a property
During Interview
· Be willing to have an initial telephone interview before you are invited to a face to face interview.
· Be willing to provide your ID and references and always be prepared to let the interviewer verify your ID and references
· Agree a comprehensive list of tasks
· Listen carefully to what standards are expected and come to an agreement on how they will be met
· Discuss confidentiality
· Decide what to do if something gets broken or damaged
· Agree on a course of action if they are not happy with your work
· Discuss who will be providing equipment and whether there are any additional
charges to be taken into account
· You may wish to consider having a police check done ( not to be confused with a
Criminal Records Check). You will need to complete a form (obtained from your
local police station).
The check will take no more than 40 days and usually costs around £10. The police will either provide a certificate stating that there is currently no information about you on the police computer systems or it will provide a list of convictions.
