On Tuesday of this week (21 November) I had a very nerve racking interview with the lovely Nicki Whiteman at BBC Radio Berkshire.  Nicki was very impressed with the site and being a working mum she thought it was just what she needed.  We have had more new members join up as a result of the interview and an increased number of hits to the site.  If you want to listen to the interview you can log on to their site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/berkshire/ and press “listen again”.

We have today launched a new feature.  New sub-categories have been added to the main categories which should ultimately mean that you are easier to find when someone carries out a search.

So, if you are a cleaner you can chose whether you do domestic cleaning, carpet cleaning, oven cleaning or commercial cleaning or all of them. Please do go and update your profiles and add in your sub-categories.

We’ve stepped up our marketing campaign this month and this has started by giving the website a facelift to make it look more contemporary and pleasing on the eye.

Hi All

Well believe it or not we are on the christmas countdown!

We are expecting December to be a bumper month with people looking for extra help around the home getting ready for xmas.

The site has had thousands of hits and a great deal of you have been contacted through the site.

If you are one of the few who has not been contacted please check your profile for the following:
1) Check you have a profuile picture or one of our standard images
2) Ensure that all your details are correct
3) Put as much information about yourself and the service you offer as possible.  Look at your profile and think “if I was loking for a cleaner/ ironer etc would I be interested in this person from this profile”

So, at the moment I am concentrating on a marketing campaign.  As well as the usual google ad words campaign, leafleting and newspapers adverts I would like to place posters in local schools, libraries, cafes, social clubs etc etc. 

As I can’t go round the whole country myself (although believe me I would if I could) I thought that you guys might be able to help.  Attached to this post if the leaflet we distribute in a pdf format.   Why not print it off and place it on your local notice board?  It will attract more people to the sight and may lead to more work for you!

We have more and more people advertising with us now, yet it seems that many of you aren’t accessing the site often enough to realise and apply for the jobs.  Please ensure you check the site regularly

If you have not done do already please ensure that you add an image to your profile.  Profiles without images are not displayed on the front page of the site.  To add an image just go to your Account Page and go to Edit Pictures.  You can add one of our standard images - it only takes a minute!

Hi! Im Michelle.  Im glad you have found the site.  I thought I would take the oppurtunity to tell you about about me and the site.  I am a  working mother with two  young children and when I tried to fnd a cleaner on the internet I discovered that there was no kind of site to help me find one!  So the idea of DYD was born and over many months I have created the site and it has been a real labour of love.  There is currently nothing else like it in the UK.  I am very excited that in the last 20 days the site has already had over 2000 hits
